Who knew that the place had some really nice-looking hot springs?![break][break]

While Alexei knew that they were mostly found in Lavaridge, it was definitely a pleasant surprise to see that this place had them, too. And while he knew that on normal principle, hot springs were usually separated by genders, there were some exemptions to the rule…[break][break]

…like this one, for starters.[break][break]

He could only wonder why there was nobody around—the place was practically deserted! He guessed that there were decent bathrooms around the area, but nothing beat the authenticity of taking a relaxing soak in an actual hot spring bath![break][break]

He’d found himself stripping down and out of most of his clothing, down to a pair of black boxer shorts. While it was going to feel really weird without his scarf on him all the time, he knew he could survive without it for a few hours. Swiping the floating bucket that had the soap and all that crap, he gingerly carried it out and set it down on the edge.[break][break]

There was a second floating bucket, and he stared at the bottle inside of it. There were even nice, fancy-ass little drinking dishes that came along with it. Wondering if it was going to be a good idea, he decided to look for an identical, empty bottle.[break][break]

Once he’d secured that he’d filled it with vodka. And not just the dinky-ass vodka one finds at any liquor store. This was from his personal, private stash… and he decided to bring the bottle along and hide it near one of the bushes so he could easily reach for it just in case the smaller serving bottle ran dry.[break][break]

Now that he was fully prepared, he then looked around and chuckled softly before grabbing the bucket that had the vodka bottle and drinking dishes in it and setting it afloat.[break][break]

And he then followed in, not too long after.[break][break]

“Perfect…” he hums, sinking in up to his shoulders and grabbing one of the smaller towels before folding it up and slapping it against a rock, to use as a makeshift ‘pillow’ as needed.

"Sonuvabitch!" [break][break]

Some clanking noises could be heard from the doorway as Sam stumbled into the sauna with a throbbing toe and tears in the corners of his eyes. He wasn't paying attention after getting himself stripped down out of his clothes and on his way in he had stubbed his toes on the door frame. And yes, that's right, the pinkie toe. Poor little piggie got smashed, it did not go 'wee wee wee' all the way home. [break][break]

"Shit, shit, shit." [break][break]

The pained mumbles finally dulled down after Sam got into the hot spring and relaxed into the water. No, he didn't have on any clothes. Why? Because it was an open all-male bath and he didn't have anything he himself was particularly ashamed off. Also, he had no shame. ~~What is modesty for $500?~~ [break][break]

There was little attention paid to the other male in the hot spring if only because Sam wasn't the type to try and notice things when he was also trying to nurse a wound and relax at the same time. He did, however, take the floating bottle of 'sake' and pour himself a small drink. He downed it, and then made a face. He pulled the bottle out to look at it, then that's when he noticed the other male and that he'd had a drink as well. [break][break]

"...the fuck is in this?" [break][break]

Did he just get poisoned?! No, that was dramatic, but it tasted like... [break][break]

"Is this vodka?" [break][break]

He peeked an eye into the bottle before taking a sniff and pouring himself another.

Not too long after he’d rested the back of his head against the makeshift ‘towel’ did he hear something not too far away.[break][break]

Eh, shouldn’t be anything too alarming… he thought lazily to himself as he grabbed one of the fancy-ass drinking dishes and poured himself just enough vodka for the liquid to touch the very edge of the cup, before knocking the shot back down in one.[break][break]

What he almost missed was someone sliding into the water—had the haze risen so thick that he’d very nearly missed the other person joining him…in the nude?[break][break]

The thought brought a gradual rise of color to his cheeks, and it wasn’t until he remembered that he’d gone in here wearing a pair of boxer shorts did he realize that he might have made a mistake.[break][break]

Either way, he heard his now-companion’s exclamations, before biting back a smirk and watching as he poured himself another glass. “Yes, that’s vodka. Ditched the sake in the changing room. Vodka’s where it’s at,” he says as he raises his drinking dish in the other person’s direction, before reaching for the floating bucket and pouring himself another shot.[break][break]

“And it’s not just your typical store-bought vodka, either,” he adds a few moments later, knocking back a second shot.[break][break]

“Was that you who caused the uproar earlier?” he inquires presently.

Vodka's where it's at? Sam was the type of person that drank socially more than anything else. He didn't typically go get a drink because he felt he needed it. Only because somebody needed a designated driver or some company. Sometimes he played those stupid drinking games with priam conrad but honestly, he never won... maybe his 'lightweight' status is why he never drank for personal reasons. [break][break]

"It's good." Sam tips his head back to take another shot before setting the cup down and huffing out a sigh. "I just figured, it would be part of the aesthetic of this place so... why not have a drink." Why was he explaining himself to a stranger??[break][break]

"And, yeah, that was me earlier. I stubbed my toe on the doorframe. Stupid, I know, but I wasn't watching where I was going. Serves me right, now I'll have a toe the color of a Salandit."

“To be fair—any place that has a hot spring automatically serves sake. I wanted something different,” he hums as the floating bucket sails idly by him. Unable to resist, he grabs the bottle and pours himself another serving.[break][break]

Much as he wants to bust out the entire bottle that’s resting in the bush just behind his head, he decides to save the big reveal for later.[break][break]

Swirling the little drinking dish around, he sighs.[break][break]

“I wanted to bring in shot glasses to make drinking this much more entertaining, but I tried testing it and the bucket kinda…sank,” he continued with a deflated expression on his face. “Apparently these wooden buckets have some kind of danged weight limit or something…” he huffs for a few moments, falling silent and staring at the depths of his drinking dish.[break][break]

Admittedly, it wasn’t that deep, but still—it was enough for him to wonder.[break][break]

“Dang, were you running away from something—or someone? That shit’s gonna hurt for a few days. I recommend white flower oil,” he hums in the other man’s direction.[break][break]

“Whoever invented corners on furniture and doors…well, sharp corners in general can go die in a ditch for all I care.”[break][break]

Sam gave a small smile at the notion of the bucket having a weight limit.[break][break]

"Everything has a weight limit, in a sense. Anything heavier than whatever is floating will cause the item to sink. It's basic physics."[break][break]

Only after he spoke did he realize what a prat he sounded like. Immediately he was clearing his throat and shrugging his shoulders. A way to sort of elevate any pressure if he'd caused it with his sharp observation.[break][break]

"Anyway, um, I think offing people for architecture is a bit strict, even if it did hurt like a son of a bitch. Maybe we can just, like, return the pain to them or something. Eye for an eye, kinda deal. Death's a bit dramatic."[break][break]

Once again, Sam doesn't realize that perhaps Alexei was just joking. Sam spent time around people who might've meant that, even if Alexei didn't, and habit lead him to try and steer the person away from murder. Shit like that, it stains... Sam would know. And perhaps that's why he couldn't bring himself to officially join the league. Not like they didn't have blood on their hands though.[break][break]

Just thinking about 'which side' he should be on made him down another shot of the vodka.
